Worship Information

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!"
We have a variety of opportunities each weekend to participate in organized worship at Peace UMC. The style and "feel" of each of the services is unique, but the scripture passage and the message theme are consistent across all the services. Everyone is encouraged to attend a different service than they usually would every now and then, because while we worship five times each weekend, we are one church and one fellowship of believers.
Saturday evening, 6:00 p.m. (On Hiatus June, July & August 2010)
The early Saturday service is the first of two Contemporary Praise worship services each weekend, with music led by Michael Tschanz, the Praise Team, and the Praise Team Band. This service includes a children's story and concludes with a time of communion at our "open" table, where everyone who believes in Jesus Christ is invited to participate. The standard attire at this worship service is blue jeans—come in comfortable clothes and experience the closeness of our loving God and our fellow believers.
Sunday mornings, 8:15 a.m.
The early Sunday morning service is an "unplugged" and more intimate service that feels a lot like like the Sunday School assemblies from years past. The music and liturgy is traditional, with Jonathan Morris accompanying the hymns on guitar and the Early Service Ensemble providing special music during communion. While the service is shorter than other services, there is time for greeting and fellowship, and sharing prayer requests and praises. This is an ideal service to attend whenever your weekend schedule is hectic, and an ideal service to attend regularly to feel closely connected.

Sunday mornings, 9:30 a.m.
Like the early Saturday service, this service is a Contemporary Praise worship service with Michael Tschanz, the Praise Team, and the Praise Team Band. This service usually has the largest attendance, so come early to get a good seat. This service includes a children's story and concludes with a time of communion. Come enjoy an energetic worship experience!
Sunday mornings, 11:00 a.m.
This later Sunday morning service, scheduled at the "traditional time" for Sunday services, features traditional music and United Methodist liturgies. The music is led by Jonathan Morris and Jane Moore, and features an anthem by the Chancel Choir and special music by any one of our soloists and ensembles. This service also includes a children's story and communion—and it finishes before lunch time!

The Sunday evening youth activities include the U-Turn worship service on most weeks, starting at 6:15 p.m. This service features youth-led music and service elements, and a message. You do not have to be of youth age to attend this service, and the youth encourage people of all ages to come and share with them. If you don't feel "young at heart" before the service, you will by the end!
